At The Hearth Eatery, everything begins with the fire, just like it did in the homes of our ancestors.

In traditional house pits, especially the longhouses where large or multiple families gathered seasonally, the hearth was the center of it all. It was where food was cooked, stories were shared, and community thrived. Often, you can still find a towering spruce tree rooted where the hearth once burned, nourished by the life that happened around it.

That idea, the hearth as a symbol of connection, nourishment, and community, is at the heart of everything we do. While the name “The Hearth” was already claimed, our mission remained the same, so we became The Hearth Eatery.

We exist to bring people together around food and fire.

Our goal is to become a fully sustainable, locally sourced eatery that supports and enriches our community. We partner with local farms and organizations, and proudly support local programs such as the Special Olympics of the Peninsula and other initiatives that lift up the people around us.

We celebrate diversity, and we believe in the power of gathering, when people share meals and stories, they find common ground. At The Hearth Eatery, we create space for those moments, where community grows stronger and we remember that, deep down, we're not so different.
